Your Host Marie Oser

Armaiti May is a veterinarian, vegan, and animal advocate. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UC Davis. While an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley, Armaiti was actively involved in the campus vegetarian advocacy group and worked to improve vegan options in the student dining commons and coordinating outreach events such as, The Great American Meatout and Vegan Thanksgiving.

As a veterinary student at UC Davis, Armaiti served as President of the Student Animal Welfare Committee and coordinated a special surgery training "wetlab" using ethical-source cadavers as an alternative to terminal use of healthy animals in traditional surgery courses.

Armaiti encourages everyone to adopt animal companions from shelters, rather than buying from breeders. By rescuing animals in need of loving homes, thereby saving lives, both guardians and pets reap many benefits

Dr. May is building a vegan-friendly integrative veterinary practice, which incorporates animal advocacy through peaceful, constructive outreach and humane education. Currently studying veterinary acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine, Dr. May offers a veterinary house call service specializing in dogs and cats, serving West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Malibu. www.veganvet.net
